This week's prompt for the Christmas Challenge is to make a slimline card. This is a card that is 8.5 x 3.5. I really wanted to try out some new dies and to see if I could replicate a moon colouring that I had seen on the Lavinia YouTube channel.
The sentiment and Santa are from the stamp set Christmas Cheer from Kraftin' Kimmie and were stamped with black Memento ink. I used my Stampin' Up platform as I needed to stamp a few times to get a nice crisp image. I originally had the saying "If you don't believe, you won't receive" but my hubby didn't like it so I stamped a new sentiment, coloured the paper to match the sky and mounted with pop dots.
I then watered down some white acrylic paint and splattered on the card to make it look like snow. This is a skill I am still trying to master. The sky and moon were created using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - scattered straw, mermaid lagoon, chipped sapphire and seedless preserves.
I will need to continue to try these techniques to master them but they were fun to try.
