I can't believe it is Wednesday! I am a bit behind on posting my creations as it was a busy weekend. Jennifer Maker held a weekend event for Cricut users and I participated so I could learn how to use my machine. I had fun playing with the cut files she shared and learning to resize and use different materials. I was able to get a few projects done.
Angel: This gal is not tiny! She stands over 7 inches tall and has 8 layers of paper. She has a set of fairy lights inside that light up and she glows. I can't wait to put her on the mantle for this upcoming Christmas season.
This cookie box was originally supposed to be BIG and use large pieces of paper which I do not have and since I have a stupid amount of scrapbooking paper, I decided to try and resize. I will say I learned a lot but am sure there is an easier way to do it!
Next I made a tealight holder. This was a quick make after the angel and the box. I really liked to pattern and the "scraps" left on my cutting mat so while watching another video I painstakingly picked the pieces off the mat and glued them to card fronts. I will make them into cards this week.
I cut out and put together this card next. I have to come up with a way to make the window and door stay closed as I do not like it open. This card is 5x7 which is larger than I prefer so maybe this is another opportunity to learn to shrink a design!
I then made 1/2 an angel in a smaller side to create a Christmas tag as part of the There's A Stamp for That Tag A Day November event (see next post). I think she turned out pretty cute.
It was great to see just what this machine can do! There are many more projects that were taught on the weekend that I would like to do in the near future.
